What do people say about us...
Jill--Teen Challenge has been a blessing to our family in our darkest moments. We are an average middle class family raising our kids in a Christian home and going to church every Sunday. We knew where our kids were at all times and were very involved in their lives. My daughter started hanging out with the wrong the "wrong crowd" her sophmore year; we didn't approve and gave her no freedom to see these kids outside of school. She was becoming more defiant, her grades dropped, she turned from God, basically our house became a war zone. It all came to a head the middle of the school year when I had her tested for drugs and she was positive--I consider this the darkest day of my life. They were not acceptable, it had always been talked about with the kids from the time they could understand. I knew after she tested positive that sending her back to public school where she would be around her "friends" for 8 hours a day was not an option. I knew first she needed to get out from under that bad influence, and second she needed to find herself again and the person God created her to be!
Teen Challenge was suggested to us by our Youth Pastor. I had heard about Teen Challenge on the radio but I'd never given it much thought because we weren't "those" kind of people. I admit it scared me to send her there because I was sure the other kids there would be just what I was trying to get her away from. I also felt failure and guilt as a parent that I failed along the way and now my daughter was ending up at a school for troubled kids. We felt God leading us to enroll her right away and after only 3 months at TCCA my daughter has a light and joy back in her eyes. She has just blossomed at Teen Challenge, her grades are back up, she enjoys the Life Skills Classes and Angie has been a positive influence in her life.
Most of all my daughter loves the Lord again and our home is a place of peace! My daughter has come to realize those kids at public school really weren't her friends and has "Thanked" me, her mom, for saving her!
I would encourage you to step up and "save" your child before they get too deep into whatever they are doing and enroll them at TCCA because it has made all the difference in my daughter's life.
